Our History

Glad Tidings Church, an Assemblies of God church affiliated with the Assemblies of God denomination headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, had its origin in tent revival meetings on the south side of Muncie in 1919.  After several years of worshipping in rented facilities and homes, two lots on East Memorial Drive were purchased and a church in Redkey was bought, dismantled, carried by truck to Muncie and reassembled as a permanent place for worship from 1936 to 1972.  In 1972, the congregation moved into their newly constructed facility on South Burlington.  Worship attendance has continued to climb since 1999, and in May of 2008, a new worship facility was dedicated and renovation of the old worship space began.
