The Failing Family - Who's to Blame?
Statistics regarding the family are both distressing and disheartening. The unraveling of the home, an epidemic of neglect and abuse, and the dismantling of the institution of marriage, have left behind a trail of physical, emotional, and spiritual human carnage. This reality has caused many, especially inside the church, to point fingers of blame and call out those they feel are responsible. The most notable culprits include Hollywood, liberal politics, video games, and the social networking enterprise.
But should they really be our scapegoats or do we, the people of God bear responsibility? Is it really the politicians or the media that have created the family crisis in America? This series, The Failing Family-Who’s to Blame?, will explore that very question.
Rather than placing blame on others, we will learn that the Church must accept responsibility and deal with issues of the heart rather than merely contending with the symptoms of hearts which have grown cold. Forgiveness, correction, healing, fathering, and biblical instruction must again be the foundation of the church’s message to the family. Only then will the demise of the family subside and the glory of God’s intention be fully realized.
